تَعال

Giving a command

Come here, sit down, listen — how to build the command form

You'll need commands from your first week — come in, sit down, say it again, wait. They come from the bare present tense you just learned, with the person prefix taken off.

Take "تِفتَح", you open. Strip the "تِـ" and you're left with a cluster that's hard to start a word with, so an "إِ" goes on the front instead: "إِفتَح", open.

Three forms

Every command has three shapes, for a man, a woman and a group. The endings are the same ones as everywhere else — nothing for a man, "ـِي" for a woman, "ـُوا" for a group.
