Real conditions - إذا

Conditions that could actually happen, with إذا

Arabic splits its conditional sentences in two, and the first thing to learn is which half you are in. "إذا" is for a condition that could still come true. If it rains. If you have time. If he calls.

The part to get used to is the tense. The verb straight after "إذا" normally goes in the past, even when you clearly mean the future. The second half of the sentence is where the future lives.
