I, you, he, she — the words that stand in for a name

English has one "you". Arabic has three: one for a man, one for a woman, and one for a group.

There's no word for "it". Every noun is either masculine or feminine, so a book is "هُوَّ" and a car is "هِيَّ".

There's no polite form either — "إنتَ" is what you say to a friend and to a stranger alike.
