Learn Syrian Arabic in Damascus

The fee covers your accommodation and tuition.

The fee does not include your transportation to and from Damascus, though we will help you arrange this.

The courses run for four weeks, starting on the first sunday of each month.

The course runs for 4 weeks, with classes held 4 days a week, 4 hours per day. A total of 64 hours of instruction.

Accommodation is provided and included in the program fee. The accommodation is shared rooms in a traditional-style home in the old city of Damascus. Further details will be shared upon registration via WhatsApp.

It’s a small group setting (maximum 6 students) to ensure personalized attention and a more immersive experience. Groups of students will be determined based on language level.

Syria currently has a visa on arrival system. The cost of the visa varies depending on your nationality. More details in the program pdf.

Thankfully Syria is more and more stable every day, and inside Damascus you will probably feel its calmer and safer than your own capital city!

All levels are welcome to join. We do ask that if you are a beginner, familiarize yourself with the Arabic alphabet prior to coming. We will send you all the resources you need to get yourself up to speed. Upon registration, you will complete a brief level assessment.

Whether you're coming from Beirut or Amman, we will connect you with our trusted transport providers. From Beirut this is a taxi service (80$) that you can share with other students, and from Amman we recommend a coach service which is 15$.

You will need to present a valid passport at the border to enter Syria. Upon payment of the visa fee your visa is granted

Classes are held 4 hours a day, 4 days a week, with time left for cultural activities, exploring the city, or personal study.

Meals are not included in the fee, but we provide guidance on where to eat affordably and safely in Damascus. The accommodation also provides a fully equipped shared kitchen.
